About Dr. Sabha Ganai

A physician with a special interest in surgical ethics, Dr. Sabha Ganai recently became a senior ethics fellow with the University of Chicago MacLean Center of Clinical Medical Ethics. Her history with the MacLean Center goes back to 2013 when she underwent her fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the institution. Dr. Sabha Ganai has authored book chapters on complex ethical issues such as informed consent and has over 50 publications. 

Beyond her commitment to medical ethics, Dr. Sabha Ganai is a specialist in cancer surgery and is board certified in complex general surgical oncology. While practicing in Illinois, she was the first physician to carry out the procedure called “hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy with cytoreduction” in the state’s southern and central regions. She remains an active participant in the field, acting as an ad hoc reviewer for publications such as the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. 

In addition to her experience as a reviewer for scientific journals, Dr. Sabha Ganai has published original research in a wide variety of respected medical outlets. Her work has appeared in the Annals of Surgery, Journal of Rural Health, American Journal of Surgery, Nature Communications, and the Journal of Cancer Education.
